My mother discovered this object in my father's drawer

 

An old desk. A drawer that had always been locked. A heavy silence in the house. That day, guided by a simple intuition, a mother finally decided to open the forbidden drawer. What she discovered was far from what she could have imagined…

A mystery at the heart of everyday life

It all begins in a quiet house, the home of an ordinary family. One morning, soft light streams through the windows and the aroma of coffee fills the room. But on the kitchen table, a strange object catches everyone's eye: long, curved, metallic, cold to the touch. It seems…  imbued with a presence .

It was the mother who found it, hidden at the bottom of a drawer that her husband had always kept locked. A hiding place so discreet that one might have thought it didn't exist. But after years of silence and questions, she dared to open it.

This drawer that no one opened

That drawer was something of a taboo subject in the house. Located in my father's study, it had always been locked,  protected like a closely guarded secret . No papers, no money, no family heirlooms. Nothing… except for that enigmatic object.

Upon discovering it, the mother didn't cry out. She simply observed it before placing it in front of her son, who in turn contemplated it,  visibly disturbed . Something about this object rekindled a forgotten memory.

The weight of a faded memory

The young man recognized it immediately, without being able to say why. A scene came back to him: as a child, he had seen his father handling it in the garage. This long-buried memory suddenly resurfaced. He then understood that this object was linked to something much older. And perhaps much more  serious .

A chilling response

Determined to unravel this mystery, he visits a former colleague of his father's, a retired physics professor. The professor examines the object at length… then puts it back, his expression grim:  “I can't tell you anything. And you'd better bury it.”

Faced with the young man's insistence, the man finally uttered a disturbing phrase:  "It shouldn't even exist."

The beginning of a quest

Far from being discouraged, the son continues his investigation. Upon closer examination of the object, he discovers a series of engraved numbers:  GPS coordinates . These lead him to a remote forest, where he discovers an abandoned cabin.

Inside: a dusty desk, a box containing several similar objects, and a notebook. His father's. But no clear explanation as to the nature of these artifacts.

An unexpected inheritance

As he prepares to leave, a familiar voice echoes in his head:  "What you found did not belong to you. But now, it is yours."

A shiver ran down his spine. The object was now in his hands. He understood that his life would never be the same again.
